Founder & Director, Power of One Yoga Center

Jana Long is the director of the Power of One Yoga Center, a community-based wellness space in Baltimore, Maryland. She is the co-founder and executive director of the Black Yoga Teachers Alliance, Inc., a nonprofit organization to support the educational and professional development of black yoga teachers. Jana, who brought 30 years of yoga practice to her initial 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2006, has witnessed the emergence of yoga into mainstream culture since the early 1970s, especially into communities of color in the U.S.

Jana is an intuitive teacher and certified yoga therapist who specializes in the therapeutic application of yoga and meditation for older adults and cancer management. Her studies in yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda have spanned the globe, beginning in West Africa, India, Central America, and across the U.S. Jana is a certified Master Gardener for Baltimore City with a mandate to educate the local community about environmental sustainability and urban gardening. She was inducted into the Global Peace Initiative of Women and serves on the advisory board of the Give Back Yoga Foundation.
