Dr. Andrea D. Sullivan

Dr. Andrea Sullivan, PhD, ND, is a naturopathic and homeopathic physician, author, and lecturer with a private practice in Washington, DC. She received a doctorate of naturopathic medicine (ND) from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, and completed advanced courses in homeopathic medicine in the U.S., India, and Europe. She continues to study with homeopathic physicians from Mumbai (Bombay), India, and is a diplomat with the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians. In 1976, Dr. Sullivan became the first African American to receive a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in sociology/criminology, and taught those subjects at Howard and American Universities. She has served as a special assistant for urban policy to the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Excerpts from Dr. Sullivan's first book, A Path to Healing: A Guide to Wellness for Body, Mind, and Soul, appeared in Essence Magazine. She has also written for Prevention, HuffPost, Ebony, Heart and Soul, and Health Quest publications.

Dr. Sullivan is a frequent guest on radio and major network television. She has lectured on naturopathic and homeopathic medicine throughout the U.S. and Canada, including The George Washington University, Georgetown University, the American Lung Association, the National Institutes of Health, the National Medical Association Annual Conferences, and the AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania Conference.
